Connect Perplexity to your task board

Research in one pane, tasks in the next.

To connect Perplexity to a task board, add Weft — a task board with an MCP server — to Perplexity and sign in once. It takes about three minutes and is free for 50 tasks. After that, Perplexity creates, moves and finishes tasks on your board when you ask.

Weft is the AI task manager for solo founders and small teams.

Perplexity answers with sources; Weft keeps what you decided to do about them. Connect once and the findings you care about leave the thread as tasks instead of scrolling away.

Perplexity MCP setup

Custom remote connectors need Perplexity Pro, Max or Enterprise, and they roll out by surface — web and desktop first; the Comet browser still takes only catalog connectors. Leave the OAuth client ID blank: Weft registers Perplexity automatically.

  1. 01

    Create a free Weft account.

Weft is free for 50 tasks. Pro from $5/seat/month billed yearly.

  3. 03

    Complete the OAuth popup.

On first use, Perplexity opens a browser window so you can authorize with your Weft account. Sign in once — the client remembers you after that.

  4. 04

    Verify it works.

Start a thread and ask: "what's on my Weft board?" — Perplexity calls the connector and lists your columns.

Try these prompts

Everything below works once you’re connected — Perplexity picks the right Weft tool on its own.

  • “Add a task: "compare the three payment providers we shortlisted".”
  • “Pull up my board and group what is left by priority.”
  • “Turn the three next steps above into tasks in Weft.”
  • “What did I finish this sprint?”

Perplexity and MCP: common questions

Does Perplexity support MCP?

Yes. Perplexity connects to remote MCP servers, and Weft is one: a single endpoint, https://letsweft.com/api/mcp. You sign in once in the browser; there is no API key to copy.

Where do I add an MCP server in Perplexity?

In Perplexity itself, not in a file. Start here: Open Settings → Connectors and click "+ Custom connector", then pick Remote.

Is Weft free to use with Perplexity?

Yes, for up to 50 tasks, with no credit card. Pro removes the limit.

What can Perplexity do on my Weft board?

Create, update, move and complete tasks, plan and run sprints, sort work into projects and search across all of it: 32 MCP tools in all.
