Connect CodeBuddy to your task board

Tencent's coding agent, on your board.

To connect CodeBuddy to a task board, add Weft — a task board with an MCP server — to CodeBuddy and sign in once. It takes about three minutes and is free for 50 tasks. After that, CodeBuddy creates, moves and finishes tasks on your board when you ask.

Weft is the AI task manager for solo founders and small teams.

This client has no OAuth of its own, so it signs in with an access token from Settings → Access tokens — see letsweft.com/docs/access-tokens. The CLI writes ~/.codebuddy/.mcp.json; the editor takes the same URL and header in its own MCP settings.

    Complete the OAuth popup.

    On first use, CodeBuddy opens a browser window so you can authorize with your Weft account. Sign in once — the client remembers you after that.

    Verify it works.

    Run `codebuddy mcp list` — it health-checks each server and prints "weft: … (HTTP) - ✓ Connected". Then ask in a session: "what's on my board?".

Does CodeBuddy support MCP?

Yes. CodeBuddy connects to remote MCP servers, and Weft is one: a single endpoint, https://letsweft.com/api/mcp. This setup signs in with an access token from Settings → Access tokens instead of a browser window.

Where do I add an MCP server in CodeBuddy?

You don’t edit a file by hand: the command in step 2 adds the Weft entry to CodeBuddy for you.

Is Weft free to use with CodeBuddy?
