Connect iFlow CLI to your task board
Alibaba's terminal agent, on your board.
To connect iFlow CLI to a task board, add Weft — a task board with an MCP server — to iFlow CLI and sign in once. It takes about three minutes and is free for 50 tasks. After that, iFlow CLI creates, moves and finishes tasks on your board when you ask.
Weft is the AI task manager for solo founders and small teams.
The terminal agent from Alibaba's iFlow team, free for individuals. It reads the repo and runs commands; Weft holds what the shell forgets — what is in flight, what is finished, and what is waiting on you.
iFlow CLI MCP setup
iFlow CLI MCP docs ↗This client has no OAuth of its own, so it signs in with an access token from Settings → Access tokens — see letsweft.com/docs/access-tokens. iFlow writes the entry to ~/.iflow/settings.json as `httpUrl` plus headers; drop `--scope user` to keep it to one project instead.

Create a free Weft account.
Weft is free for 50 tasks. Pro from $5/seat/month billed yearly.
- 02
Add Weft to your iFlow CLI config.
bashiflow mcp add --scope user --transport http weft https://letsweft.com/api/mcp \ -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"MCP endpointhttps://letsweft.com/api/mcp - 03

On first use, iFlow CLI opens a browser window so you can authorize with your Weft account. Sign in once — the client remembers you after that.
- 04
Verify it works.
Run `iflow mcp list` — Weft answers "✓ weft: … (http) - Connected". Then start `iflow` and ask: "what's on my board?".
Try these prompts
Everything below works once you’re connected — iFlow CLI picks the right Weft tool on its own.
- “What's on my board right now?”
- “File a task for every TODO you just left in the code.”
- “Start the top task in Todo and report progress as you go.”
- “What finished work is waiting for my review?”
iFlow CLI and MCP: common questions
Does iFlow CLI support MCP?
Yes. iFlow CLI connects to remote MCP servers, and Weft is one: a single endpoint, https://letsweft.com/api/mcp. This setup signs in with an access token from Settings → Access tokens instead of a browser window.
Where do I add an MCP server in iFlow CLI?
You don’t edit a file by hand: the command in step 2 adds the Weft entry to iFlow CLI for you.
Is Weft free to use with iFlow CLI?
Yes, for up to 50 tasks, with no credit card. Pro removes the limit.
What can iFlow CLI do on my Weft board?
Create, update, move and complete tasks, plan and run sprints, sort work into projects and search across all of it: 32 MCP tools in all.
