Connect Amp to your task board
Sourcegraph's agent, on your board.
To connect Amp to a task board, add Weft — a task board with an MCP server — to Amp and sign in once. It takes about three minutes and is free for 50 tasks. After that, Amp creates, moves and finishes tasks on your board when you ask.
Weft is the AI task manager for solo founders and small teams.
Sourcegraph's coding agent, in the terminal and in the editor. Weft is where the work itself lives, so what Amp finishes is visible to you and to every other assistant you use.
Amp MCP setup
Amp MCP docs ↗Amp's local settings authenticate with a header, so this uses an access token from Settings → Access tokens (see letsweft.com/docs/access-tokens). If you keep servers on your Amp account instead, `amp mcp remote add weft <url> --auth oauth --personal` uses OAuth and no token.
- 01
Create a free Weft account.
Weft is free for 50 tasks. Pro from $5/seat/month billed yearly.
- 02
Add Weft to your Amp config.
bashamp mcp add weft --header "Authorization=Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" https://letsweft.com/api/mcpMCP endpointhttps://letsweft.com/api/mcp - 03
Complete the OAuth popup.
On first use, Amp opens a browser window so you can authorize with your Weft account. Sign in once — the client remembers you after that.
- 04
Verify it works.
Run `amp mcp list` — weft appears under your global settings file. Then start `amp` and ask: "what's on my board?".
Try these prompts
Everything below works once you’re connected — Amp picks the right Weft tool on its own.
- “What's on my board right now?”
- “File a task for every TODO you just left in the code.”
- “Start the top task in Todo and report progress as you go.”
- “What finished work is waiting for my review?”
Amp and MCP: common questions
Does Amp support MCP?
Yes. Amp connects to remote MCP servers, and Weft is one: a single endpoint, https://letsweft.com/api/mcp. This setup signs in with an access token from Settings → Access tokens instead of a browser window.
Where do I add an MCP server in Amp?
You don’t edit a file by hand: the command in step 2 adds the Weft entry to Amp for you.
Is Weft free to use with Amp?
Yes, for up to 50 tasks, with no credit card. Pro removes the limit.
What can Amp do on my Weft board?
Create, update, move and complete tasks, plan and run sprints, sort work into projects and search across all of it: 32 MCP tools in all.
