Connect Muse Code to your task board

Meta's terminal agent, on your board.

To connect Muse Code to a task board, add Weft — a task board with an MCP server — to Muse Code and sign in once. It takes about three minutes and is free for 50 tasks. After that, Muse Code creates, moves and finishes tasks on your board when you ask.

Weft is the AI task manager for solo founders and small teams.

Meta's coding agent for the terminal and CI. It plans, edits and runs commands behind approvals and a sandbox — Weft gives it what a terminal session forgets: what is in flight, what is finished, and what is waiting on you.

Muse Code MCP setup

Muse Code MCP docs ↗

Muse Code only. The Meta AI assistant and the Muse agent connect to a curated list of apps, not to a URL you paste, so Weft cannot be added there yet. Keep the schema_version line: a settings file without it fails at startup. Dynamic client registration is on by default, so there is no client ID to fill in.

  1. 01

    Create a free Weft account.

    Weft is free for 50 tasks. Pro from $5/seat/month billed yearly.

  2. 02

    Add Weft to your Muse Code config.

    ~/.config/muse/settings.json
    {
      "schema_version": 1,
      "mcp_servers": {
        "weft": {
          "transport": "streamable_http",
          "url": "https://letsweft.com/api/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
    MCP endpoint
    https://letsweft.com/api/mcp
  3. 03

    Complete the OAuth popup.

    On first use, Muse Code opens a browser window so you can authorize with your Weft account. Sign in once — the client remembers you after that.

  4. 04

    Verify it works.

    Run `muse mcp login weft` to sign in through the browser, then start `muse` and ask: "what's on my board?". `/mcp` lists the connected server and its tools.

Try these prompts

Everything below works once you’re connected — Muse Code picks the right Weft tool on its own.

  • “What's on my board right now?”
  • “File a task for every TODO you just left in the code.”
  • “Start the top task in Todo and report progress as you go.”
  • “What finished work is waiting for my review?”

Muse Code and MCP: common questions

Does Muse Code support MCP?

Yes. Muse Code connects to remote MCP servers, and Weft is one: a single endpoint, https://letsweft.com/api/mcp. You sign in once in the browser; there is no API key to copy.

Where do I add an MCP server in Muse Code?

In ~/.config/muse/settings.json. The snippet in step 2 is the whole Weft entry.

Is Weft free to use with Muse Code?

Yes, for up to 50 tasks, with no credit card. Pro removes the limit.

What can Muse Code do on my Weft board?

Create, update, move and complete tasks, plan and run sprints, sort work into projects and search across all of it: 32 MCP tools in all.
