Connect Cursor to your task board

Turn code review comments into tasks.

To connect Cursor to a task board, add Weft — a task board with an MCP server — to Cursor and sign in once. It takes about three minutes and is free for 50 tasks. After that, Cursor creates, moves and finishes tasks on your board when you ask.

Weft is the AI task manager for solo founders and small teams.

The AI-first code editor. Let Cursor file its own follow-ups on your board while you ship — no context switch. One click installs the server; no config editing needed.

Weft is also listed in the Cursor Directory: cursor.directory/plugins/weft.

  1. 01

    Create a free Weft account.

    Weft is free for 50 tasks. Pro from $5/seat/month billed yearly.

  2. 02

    Add Weft to Cursor — one click.

    Add to CursorOpens Cursor and installs the Weft server. Or configure manually:
    ~/.cursor/mcp.json
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "weft": {
          "url": "https://letsweft.com/api/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
    MCP endpoint

  3. 03

    Complete the OAuth popup.

    On first use, Cursor opens a browser window so you can authorize with your Weft account. Sign in once — the client remembers you after that.

  4. 04

    Verify it works.

    Open Cursor → Settings → MCP. The "weft" server should appear with a green indicator after you complete OAuth.

Try these prompts

Everything below works once you’re connected — Cursor picks the right Weft tool on its own.

  • “Create a task to migrate the old auth middleware.”
  • “File any TODO comments I just added as Backlog tasks.”
  • “What's the active sprint goal?”

Cursor and MCP: common questions

Does Cursor support MCP?

Yes. Cursor connects to remote MCP servers, and Weft is one: a single endpoint, https://letsweft.com/api/mcp. You sign in once in the browser; there is no API key to copy.

Where do I add an MCP server in Cursor?

In ~/.cursor/mcp.json. The snippet in step 2 is the whole Weft entry.

Is Weft free to use with Cursor?

Yes, for up to 50 tasks, with no credit card. Pro removes the limit.

What can Cursor do on my Weft board?

Create, update, move and complete tasks, plan and run sprints, sort work into projects and search across all of it: 32 MCP tools in all.
