To connect Gemini to a task board, add Weft — a task board with an MCP server — to Gemini and sign in once. It takes about three minutes and is free for 50 tasks. After that, Gemini creates, moves and finishes tasks on your board when you ask.

Custom apps in Gemini are for personal Google Accounts in the US, aged 18 or over, with Keep Activity turned on, and in English only — work and school accounts are not supported yet. You add the app on the web; it then works in the Gemini mobile app too. Gemini asks you to confirm every change Weft makes to your board.

    Add Weft in Gemini.

    1. 1Open gemini.google.com and go to Settings → Connected Apps.
    2. 2Under "Custom apps", add a new app and paste the Weft MCP URL below as the MCP server URL.
    3. 3Leave the credentials under "Advanced features" empty — Weft registers Gemini automatically.
    4. 4Sign in with your Weft account in the window that opens and approve access.

    Complete the OAuth popup.

    On first use, Gemini opens a browser window so you can authorize with your Weft account. Sign in once — the client remembers you after that.

    Verify it works.

    In any chat type @, pick Weft and ask: "what's on my board?" — Gemini calls the app and lists your columns.

Does Gemini support MCP?

Yes. Gemini connects to remote MCP servers, and Weft is one: a single endpoint, https://letsweft.com/api/mcp. You sign in once in the browser; there is no API key to copy.

Where do I add an MCP server in Gemini?

In Gemini itself, not in a file. Start here: Open gemini.google.com and go to Settings → Connected Apps.
