Bulk Create Tasks (Import)
bulk_create_tasks is one of the 32 MCP tools in Weft, the AI task manager you run by talking to Claude, Cursor, Codex or ChatGPT through one MCP endpoint. Create up to 1000 tasks in one atomic call — import Linear/Jira/Notion/Trello exports or any list of 3+ tasks, using just one AI-call quota hit.
Weft is the AI task manager for solo founders and small teams.
Arguments
| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| tasks | array | yes | Tasks to create, in order. Each item: title (required), description, priority, column (semantic "backlog"/"todo"/"doing"/"done" or column name — omit for Backlog), sprintId, project (name or id), assignee, estimateMinutes, dueAt, startAt. |
Returns
created (count) plus id/title/columnId for each created task (first 200).
Annotations
Default write tool. The tool mutates state; MCP clients are free to call it once they know what the user wants. Whether the client asks for confirmation is the client’s choice; the Model Context Protocol specification recommends keeping a human in the loop with the ability to deny tool invocations.
Example
What the user says:
"Here is my Linear CSV export — import everything into Weft."What the AI calls under the hood:

{

"priority": "high",
"column": "todo"
},
{

}
]
}
